Mark and I are planning to have a relaxing weekend, starting with a morning stroll to one of our favorite coffee shops. Later we plan on driving to enjoy a relaxing day trip to Sonoita, AZ for wine tasting at some of the wineries, and enjoy a couple of farmer’s markets along the way, then go for a hike and end it with a little picnic.

What are you doing this 4th of July weekend?

The devil’s dozen - Deviled eggs are a must at every barbecue of gathering.

Elote - Mexican style corn on the cob.

Apple curry chicken salad - This is a delightful salad that will please your curry-loving guests.

Jeweled brussels sprouts - This is one of my favorites - nice and bright with a burst of color from the pomegranite seeds.

Pico de gallo - You just have to have pico de gallo if you do anything barbecue, it is a sure crowd pleaser.

Strawberry blush sangria - You must make this! it is completely refreshing, light and perfect for summer gatherings.

Heirloom tomato salad - This is a bright, fresh salad that will be a perfect addition to your barbecue.

White chocolate cupcakes - Red, white, and blue! These will give you something sweet to balance all of the savory meats. These cupcakes are delicious and can be decorated with strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries to give it that 4th of July flare.
