With the holidays fast approaching (Eeek!!) I’m over here trying to brainstorm on different DIY crafts and baked goods I can make this year to send out as gifts. And with Thanksgiving only two weeks away I need to get my list on point so I can prepare with enough time to get projects started and Christmas shopping done without feeling the rush. Last year when I was 9 months pregnant during the month of December I somehow found the energy to craft and bake a smorgasbord of items to send off in gift boxes for friends and family. How I made that happen, I will never know, but what I do know about this year is honing into my new mantra, “Keep it simple, keep it sweet.” With two boys three and under in the house, I plan on keeping things simple and sweet with one or two thoughtful gifts, instead of a handful of little ones.
Here’s a list of some of my favorite DIY gifts to give this holiday.
I made gift boxes for friends last year filled with handmade crafts and baked goods. Small jars of this spoon and board butter was one of my favorite things to make and give. Rub it all over your wood cutting boards and wooden utensils to help keep them looking top notch.
I loved these Personalized Wooden Spoons so much last year, I’m making them again this year. You can find the wooden spoons for really inexpensive, making this affordable, stylish and useful. Win-win.
Homemade Chapstick is one of my all-time favorite gifts to give friends and family. Beeswax and coconut oil are combined to make a wonderfully soothing chapstick. You can customize the fragrance so each one is different. My favorite is grapefruit-mint.
A set of personalized candle holders is the perfect gift to give the person who loves hosting parties.
Another great gift idea for bakers and cooks is a Vanilla Extract Kit. This gives the opportunity to make bourbon vanilla extract or regular vanilla extract.
DIY Wine Charms that can be personalized is one of my favorite gifts to make for wine-lover friends.
Homemade Lavendar Honey Lip Balm. Need I say more?
Because jar of infused liquor is always a good idea for the cocktail lover.
Oreo Peppermint Bark is like OMG good.
A jar full of granola crusted nuts is a great gift for any nut lover.
Curious about how to make these beautiful felt bows? They are super easy and can transform any ho-hum gift wrapping into something extra special.
