This is a great project for kids. Heck, you don’t even have to be a kid to like it! It involves painting and glitter – and glitter always makes things more fun.
I found these pre-made wooden Halloween decorations at JoAnn Crafts. A little secret I have in getting a good bargain on holiday decorations is going to the store a week before the holiday. Stores typically have a bigger sale during that week. I got these for 60% off, making some of them only 59 cents each! What a deal, right?!
They ended up coming out so cute, I made a few of them as gifts.
I bought super-fine glitter. I like it best because it gets in all the crevices and gives off an extra special sparkle.
What you will need to get started:
- Halloween themed wood cut-outs
- Acrylic paint
- Craft glue
Paint Halloween characters with acrylic paint and let them dry. Then paint on craft glue and sprinkle with matching glitter. Let it dry, then shake off the extra glitter onto a piece of paper or paper plate.
I like to save my extra glitter. To do this, I fold my paper or paper plate, that the extra glitter fell on, and funnel it back into my glitter container.
