Throw a Soiree

Sometimes you don’t need an excuse to throw a party. Sometimes the best parties are impromptu. Here’s a list of party ideas, just for the heck of it. -e:)

Throw a Wine tasting partyred or white, or both! Have a series of different types of red wines: merlot, malbec, cabernet sauvignon or syrah. Pair them with different foods and teach your guests on how to notice different notes in each wine.

Throw a color party – Where people show up only wearing white, or black, or red – whatever! Just have a theme going and it will be fun.

A costume party is always a great idea. Pick a theme, either cowboy or 80′s style, as long as you give the criteria of what people should wear, you can’t go wrong and thrift stores are easy and inexpensive ways to get creative with your costumes!

Throw a sweater party. Typically these sorts of parties are near the holidays. You find the ugliest, tackiest holiday sweater you can get your hands (best finds at a thrift store) and show up to the party. Sometimes there is a prize for best sweater, and definitely a lot of laughs. This party is on my bucket list;)

We recently threw a silly True Blood Premiere party, because I’m a dork, and because it seemed like a good idea. Friends brought over Southern-style food, mimicking Merlotte’s menu from the show. I made red velvet cupcakes that were topped with fangs, made by my friend Monica. Then we covered mini wine bottles and red colored soda with blood type labels, to resemble the vampire drink, Tru Blood and the drug “V”. It was good times.

Are you sure that chair on the right didn’t come from my room downstairs?!
    Looks exactly like it.
