Chocolate Cherry Trail Mix Recipe

Chocolate Cherry Trail Mix
Mark and I went on one of our favorite hiking trails to soak up some of this beautiful weather we’ve been getting lately. I wanted to pack us something light, yet substantial enough to give us an energy boost when we start to lag. I made a medley with dried tart cherries, almonds, cashews, peanuts and chocolate. I used a special type of almond that has been one of my favorites for years now, I used tamari roasted almonds. You can buy tamari almonds, which is a delicious light spice that the almonds are roasted in, at any Whole Foods style store. It sets off this trail mix just right for me. I loved the combination so much, I actually packed a bag of this to take with us on our vacation to Europe.
Just a side note – this can make a great gift to an outdoorsy friend!
