Peach Raspberry Yogurt Smoothie Recipe

Fruit smoothies are the epitome of a quick breakfast. I’ve been trying to post more quick and simple, non-complicated recipes for the person on the go, like I’ve been lately. Something practical and absolutely no fuss. Smoothies are on the top of my list as no fuss, quick and delicious meals. It’s been seriously hot outside, and this is by far one of the coolest breakfasts I’ve made in a while. I’ve been keeping it simple lately, trying to make the most of what is in my freezer and fridge. The basis for this smoothie is yogurt, milk and fruit. I always have milk on hand, and fruit and yogurt, so there is no need to go to the store for that one ingredient. I used peaches and raspberries since they make a tasty combo, and also happened to be in my fridge. It’s the kind of no-nonsense breakfast that will tide you over until lunch. I didn’t use any extra sweetener in this smoothie, since the yogurt and fruit were sweet enough for my taste buds, but if I did, I would have used some agave nectar, stevia, or a smidgen of turbinado sugar. If peaches and raspberries aren’t your thing, don’t use them. I’ve never heard of a fruit that was gross in a smoothie, so have fun creating your own breakfast drink. A blueberry-banana smoothie sounds mighty fine, come to think of it. Another favorite combo of mine is pineapple and mango. Get crazy with it, but most of all have fun making AND drinking your breakfast smoothie.

Need more protein in your diet? Yeah, me too. I sometimes add a scoop of soy protein or whey protein into my smoothies. The fruit and yogurt help to mask that, for some, awful protein powder taste (which I’ll admit – I love!).

Ingredients – I used 1% milk in this smoothie, but any type will suffice, even soy or almond milk for those who are lactose intolerant or vegan. I used raspberry yogurt to go with the theme of the smoothie, but you can use vanilla, plain, or any other kind of flavor, and yes, you can even use soy yogurt. And I’ve been seeing coconut milk yogurt lately but have yet to try it, bet it would be tasty in a smoothie!
1 cup of milk
1/2 cup of yogurt, flavored or plain
1/2 a peach, chopped (about 1/2 cup) *optional – for a thicker smoothie, use frozen fruit
Handful of raspberries (about 1/4 cup) *optional – for a thicker smoothie, use frozen fruit
A couple of cubes of ice, more if you like it icy-thick
Directions
Put all ingredients into the blender and blend until smooth. Drink, or sip immediately (Add more milk/fruit/ice or sweetener according to your taste buds).

I have those same blue-rimmed glasses, which I always use for smoothies! Peaches and raspberries sound like they’d be really tasty together. Since I don’t do dairy, I’ll try this with the vanilla So Delicious coconut milk beverage and yogurt. They’re both really yummy.
Hi Melanie – Hope you like it, and please let me know how it turns out with the coconut!
