I had the opportunity to throw a Halloween baby shower for a good friend of mine. They had their baby three weeks early, so I guess you can call this more of a baby party. It was a small quaint shower, with the movie Gremlins playing in the background for Halloween atmosphere. After the shower, my sister came over with my niece Luna and we watched scary movies and waited for trick-or-treaters to come to the door. It was a fun filled Halloween day, and the first for many years, that Mark and I did not go out dressed up for a party.
I’ll post in the coming days all of the recipes used for this event. The food was so decadent – it left us all in a comatose bliss.
Main Components to a Halloween Baby Shower
- I used orange orange orange anything and everything.
- Orange napkins, plates, cups and silverware (If you’re going the plastic route)
- I had pumpkins and Autumn leaves in hues of oranges and yellows adorn the tables and plates.
- Gifts were in plastic pumpkin trick-or-treat buckets, with green tissue coming out of the top (you can find these buckets at almost any store, usually for a dollar orĀ less) filled with goodies.

I took regular invitations and incorporated a Halloween touch to them, with little pumpkin stickers.

Orange cups, plates and napkins. I found a cheese knife with a pumpkin top!

Table treats!

Fall wreath seemed fitting.

For the food, I went with the Fall and pumpkin flavored dishes, like ghost pumpkin cupcakes, homemade pumpkin spice ice cream, caramel apples, spiced cider, cinnamon apple tart, roasted green chili corn chowder and potato leek soup, both soups served in fresh sourdough bread bowls. The whole thing was delicious.
