Margherite Lavash Pizza Recipe

Italy meets the Middle East and the result is light and healthy! Using a nice whole wheat lavash bread and a few other simple ingredients, you can easily create your own light and crispy pizza. If you are a thin crust lover, then this is a great alternative, and much healthier than your average traditional pizza. As always, make sure to start with fresh ingredients to maximize the flavor.

Margherite Lavash Pizza
Ingredients
- One large whole wheat lavash wrap
- 1/4 cup low-fat mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 4 ounces fresh mozzarella, slice in 1/4 inch rounds
- 1 tomato thinly sliced
- 4-6 fresh basil leaves thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
Directions
- Preheat oven at 350 degrees
- Place the lavash bread onto a baking sheet and evenly spread olive oil onto the lavash
- Thinly layer half of the shredded low-fat mozzarella cheese over lavash
- Evenly disperse tomato slices and fresh mozzarella slices over the lavash
- Sprinkle basil and remaining cheese evenly over your lavash pizza
- Bake for 15 minutes and then broil for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is a nice light golden brown
- Cut into squares and serve immediately
