I’m in San Francisco visiting family for the week, so I apologize for the long wait on a new recipe post. I promise a good one when I get back:) I took Oliver out for a fun mama and son stroll in the city on Tuesday. I wanted to check out the Farmers Market at the Ferry Building. I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. We had a good time, even though it rained on us most of the day. I almost caved and bought a bundle of fresh asparagus, along with a basket of the best smelling strawberries – then stopped myself since it was so rainy outside, not wanting to add to the load I was already carrying. So I window shopped instead, holding Oliver in one arm, an umbrella in the other, while pushing Oliver’s empty stroller at the same time (it was the only way I could keep us both dry!). Craziness.
Since I don’t have a new recipe to post, I thought I’d share some pictures of our venture out in San Francisco and also a list of asparagus recipes that I love.
I love asparagus AND it’s in season, so why not.
I have two asparagus recipes that are on my must-make-this(!) list, once I get home. One from Joy the Baker, and the other is inspired by an asparagus tart my sister-in-law, Liz, made over Easter weekend. It involved asparagus and puff pastry dough. It was heavenly.
My little man, Oliver.

Cowgirl Creamery inside the Ferry Building. Enjoyed some gouda cheese there.
Flower stand on Market Street. I’m a sucker for flowers.
Quick garlic asparagus is one of my favorite ways to cook asparagus. Quick and easy, my kind of style.
Spargelsuppe – is creamy soup with bits of white asparagus and absolutely heavenly.
Spring Quiche – I love adding asparagus to quiche. Deliciousness.
Pasta Verano – This is a bright pasta dish with crunch from all sorts of in season vegetables.
Joy the Baker’s Simple Asparagus Lunch . Looks healthy and delicious!
Hope you all have a nice weekend!
